A limitation on visitors to Taiwan has been loosened with public servants and journalists, who were previously forbidden to travel Taiwan, now being allowed.
Taiwan Trans-Asia Airways and EVA Airways will allocate direct airlines to Tianjin weekly starting from August 31. This will see 6-8 flights per week with over 1000 seats available. With more flights, the price of airplane tickets should decline, said Fan Jinguo, deputy manager-in-chief of Tianjin Kanghui Travel Service Agency.
The increasing number of direct flights between Tianjin and Chinese Taipei will lead to a decrease of over 2000 yuan in the cost of Taiwan tours with some agencies in Tianjin having already adjusted their prices.
One example has seen an eight-day tour around Chinese Taipei island dropping from 9180 yuan to 6980 yuan.
