The largest composite material supplier for wind turbines in China opened in Tianjin Economic and Development Area (Teda) on Wednesday.
The supplier, Tianjin Mid Composite Corp, is invested in by Mid American Supply Corp.
The fast growing wind industry is one of the eight pillar industries in Teda and it aims to be China’s largest manufacturing base and distribution center for wind power equipment.
As a key component of alternative energy, wind power equipment made in the area is projected to generate 30 to 45 billion yuan in revenues by 2015, according to the plan for developing the wind power industry released by the local government earlier this year.
