Tianjin Binhai New Area's service industry has accelerated its development in the first three quarters in 2009, adding value of 78.45 billion yuan, up 19 percent up year-on year, the Tianjin Statistics Bureau said Thursday.
Binhai's consumer market is boosted by state policies stimulating domestic demand. The total retail sales of consumer goods in the first nine months increased by 31.5 percent. The tourism industry also saw 30 percent revenue growth with the opening of the First China Tourism Festival and the Hangu Grape Festival.
The logistics industry, a pillar industry for Binhai, has bounced back since June. The goods going through Binhai-based Tianjin Port totaled 284 million tons, a 4.3- percent-rise year-on-year.
