A 62-year-old resident of Tianjin municipality, on a cross-country cycling trip since August, arrived in Xuwen, Guangdong province, last Sunday.

Li Hui told local media he had traveled around many provinces since he set off on his journey on Aug 10.

In the months ahead, Li will cycle through the provinces in southwest and northwest China until he returns to Tianjin.

"After that, I would write a book about my 50,000-km journey in 500 days."
