Vice Premier Wang Qishan inspected the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City on Sept 20, praising the project’s success and urging more support for continued development.
He also said that, in accordance with the Scientific Outlook of Development, the government should explore a new way of urbanization characterized by low energy consumption, environmentally friendly development and social harmony.
Tianjin Eco-City, located 40 kilometers from the Tianjin and covering an area of 30 hectares, is a strategic cooperation project between China and Singapore designed to create an eco-culture and better living environment.
“In the last two years, Tianjin Eco-City has made a great achievement,” Wang said. More efforts are still needed to build a green environment and promote a healthy lifestyle, he said.
Wang asked relevant departments of the State Council to do more coordinating work to support the development of Tianjin Eco-City. |
