China's largest polar marine museum opened on Thursday in Tianjin, displaying thousands of rare polar marine species from more than 10 countries.
With a floor space of 47,000 square meters, the Tianjin Polar Marine Museum has more than 2,000 polar marine species on display from countries like Russia, Canada and Australia.
The museum includes a 30-meter long pond, where visitors have the opportunity to touch and feel a variety of fish, shrimp, crabs, shellfish, marine algae and coral. The museum is also equipped with an auditorium capable of holding 2,000 people.
The polar marine museum is part of a larger polar marine world, which is still under construction. The Haichang (Group) Co Ltd has invested 3.6 billion yuan ($538 million) in the two projects. |
