TIANJIN - Vice-President Xi Jinping has asked government authorities at multiple levels to push for coordinated development in rural and urban areas during a tour of north China's coastal city of Tianjin.
Xi visited rural communities, businesses and research centers during his tour on Thursday and Friday. He urged local authorities to make improvements in their urbanization plans and to optimize rural areas to allow for industrial development and increasing numbers of residents.
While inspecting a vegetable greenhouse, Xi encouraged local farmers to utilize advanced technology in order to create a modern agricultural system. During a visit to a township community service center, he asked civil servants to use innovations in social management to promote social stability. |
