By the the end of 2010, Tianjin has 36 companies listed at the Shenzhen and Shanghai security market. The total value of security trades reached 1.575445 trillion yuan, futures contracts were worth 7.132076 trillion yuan and foreign exchange was worthUS$3.505 billion.

Insurance

At the end of 2010, there were 4 insurance company headquarters, 42 insurance branches, 81 professional intermediaries, 488 institutes including insurance branches’ marketing and sales departments, and 2694 related agencies. The premium revenue reached 21.401 billion yuan with total insurance compensation of 5.419 billion yuan.

Tianjin Haihe Education Park

Located at the so called “golden passage” which is a narrow area in Nankai District connecting downtown to the middle reaches of Haihe River, and Tianjin Binhai New Area, Tianjin Haihe Education Park is an innovative model project of China’s vocational education reform and Tianjin Hi-tech R&D. So far it has a total population of 200,000 students. Five higher vocational colleges and two secondary vocational schools have been set up and have started operating in the park with Nankai University and Tianjin University to join soon in the future. The objective of the park is to construct a talent-cultivating base to meet the needs of key projects, the modern services industry and scientific research during Tianjin and Tianjin Binhai New Area’s economic development.
