Sun Chunlan is elected as member of the Political Bureau of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on Nov 15, 2012. (Xinhua)

Sun Chunlan has been appointed secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Tianjin Municipal Committee, replacing Zhang Gaoli, according to a decision made by the CPC Central Committee.

Sun, 62, will no longer hold the post as secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, according to the decision.

Zhang, born in November 1946, has been elected a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
