The Port of Tokyo, opened on May 20, 1941, is the largest Japanese harbor and among the most influential seaports in international trade.

Serving as a base for cargo distribution, it is a pivotal stronghold for marine transportation and city development.

The 40 million Tokyo citizens have regarded the port as a lifeline for the local economy. Its traffic capacity in 2011 reached 8.33 million tons and 4.14 million TEU.
