Tianjin East Port, currently under construction, is located in the northeastern part of Tianjin Port. With a total area of about 30 square kilometers, it is a peninsula-type port surrounded by the sea on three sides. It is being constructed through land reclamation of shoal and beach regions. According to the plan, the East Port is divided into “three zones”, namely the terminal operation zone, logistics processing zone and comprehensive supporting service zone. It is equipped with “five functions”: containers terminal handling, containers logistics processing, business and trade, residence, and leisure and tourism.
The terminal operation zone is located in the western part of the port. It boasts a 7-kilometer long deepwater coastline of container terminals that can receive the most advanced container ships in the world around the clock. The logistics processing zone is located in the middle of the port. Making use of the port’s advantages, it can provide full and convenient logistics services for domestic and foreign logistics enterprises. The comprehensive supporting service zone is located in the eastern part of the port, including a residential area, a commercial business area, tourism and leisure resorts, and a cruise terminal area. It can provide office, living, business and leisure services for the East Port workers and personnel coming to Dongjiang.
At present, the 30 square kilometers of the East Port have been wholly reclaimed as land, completing basic infrastructure construction. Asia's largest international cruise home port, China's largest artificial beach scenic area, and the largest international commodity exhibition center in North China have all been put into use. A five-star hotel, yacht leisure center, and financial and trade service center in the comprehensive supporting service zone are under construction.
