During the Spring Festival, British Kung Fu enthusiast, Lucia, along with Yuan Limin, a master of Tai Ji, went to Paris, Amsterdam, Dusseldorf and Rome to popularize the Wudang martial arts.
Lucia, an intern journalist at the European central station for CCTV, began to learn Tai Ji in 2002. In 2005, she came to Wudang Mountain to learn Tai Ji from Master Yuan. During her six months in Wudang, Lucia not only practiced Kung Fu for 6 to 8 hours every day, but also learned Chinese in order to know more about Tai Ji.
In 2010, Lucia became Yuan’s formal apprentice. Later, she got the silver medal at the Fifth International Competition of Wudang Tai Ji boxing.
In 2011, Lucia came up with the idea of opening classes in London to increase recognition and popularity of Wudang Kung Fu. Although the classes were held in a library in a community of London and it only attracted ten students, Lucia still has strong belief in the training classes. She is determined to spread Wudang Kung Fu to foreign countries.
Yuan said that there are a lot of foreigners who are similar to Lucia, and who contribute to the communication between China and foreign countries.
