Trendy construction hits Wudang

The 55km-long green belt and botanical garden were built on both sides of the highway and the surrounding area.
After more than a decade of construction, the green area covers 26,670 hectares that amounts to 1.23 million cu. m. with a forest coverage rate of 82.4 percent.
The landscaping cost 15 million yuan, 3,000 plants and pine trees were planted on the main road.
Taichi Lake water amusement projects were launched in May 2011 with 17 million yuan ($2.7 million). More than 40 Italian limited edition luxury yachts are sailing around the waters of Wudang Mountain.
Wudang invested 20 billion yuan on infrastructure projects such as Blue Bay, Taichi Town, Regimen Valley, Wudang Kung Fu city, Mountain Sports Park, and Lake Islands, Wudang Conference Center, a culture theme park and Taichi Legend.
The completion of the Wudang Tour Terminal, Yacht Club, Songling Park, Laozi Statue have transformed Wudang into a global eco-tourism city.
Wudang Martial Arts International Exchange Center, Tourism Center, Taichi Theater, Wudang Museum of Art, and other projects have become local cultural landmarks.
Li Faping, secretary of the Wudang Work Committee and director of the Management Committee, said, "Wudang Mountain has its unique culture, the construction is innovative and based on the history and culture, which would create new travel trends".
