"Wudang Taoist tea" is worth 1.27 billion yuan

The result of the "2012 brand value of Chinese tea" was announced a few days ago and "Wudang Taoist tea", which is worth 1.27 billion yuan($202 million)ranked No 18 for national tea brand value, and takes the first place in Hubei province.
This year's Chinese tea brand value evaluation was jointly launched by the Agricultural Brand Research Center of the China Academy of Rural Development (CARD) of Zhejing University, Chinese Tea magazine, Chinese Tea Office and Chinese Tea Net.
The evaluation began at the end of 2011 and chose 178 tea brands among nearly 200 Chinese mainland tea brands. It collected the information of 105 tea brands through surveys, comprehensive evaluations from consumers and more. The final evaluation identified 93 tea brands.
"Xihu Longjing tea" ranks No 1 in brand value, worth 5.26 billion yuan. The second place is held by Anxi Tieguanyin with a brand value of 5.2 billion yuan, and "Pu-er" took the third place. "Wudang Taoist tea" is the common brand in Shiyan city and has won the first place for cultural tea in Hubei. It is also regarded as a national geographic indications protection product and has a gold medal from the eighth Chinese Agricultural Fair.
The top ten "2012 brand value of Chinese tea" are: Xihu Longjing tea, Anxi Tieguanyin, Pu-er, Xinyang Maojian, Dongtingshan Biluochun tea, Fuding White tea, Dafuo Longjing tea, Anji White tea, Wuyishan Dahongpao and Qimen Black tea. The total brand value of these teas is 34.13 billion yuan.
