The 2012 Wudang Outward Bound Summer Camp will be held by the Wudang Outdoor Sports Association and Wudang Yaxin Outdoor Sports Club from July to August. The children aged nine to 14 will have opportunities to appreciate the beautiful landscape of Wudang Mountain and build up teamwork.
According to the training methods of the World Scout Organization and the physical and mental status of young people, the organizers have designed different levels of training. In the camp, the children experience the army lifestyle and learn military discipline.
The Outward Bound activities allow the single child in each family to work together, to challenge and develop themselves, such as in the three-legged races. Young people can also utilize their responsibilities and team spirit.
At the same time, a wilderness survival course requires the children to go into the field under the guidance of instructors, to learn how to camp in the wild and be independent.
During the camp, children need to take care of themselves and learn first aid, including wound dressing, how to stop bleeding, put out a fire and fire escape. In addition, there will be live a CS field battle, an English corner, and barbecue.
The fee for the camp is 1,680 yuan ($263.76), which included training, board and lodging expenses, insurance and camp clothing expenses. And there are three phases for the summer camps: from July 15 to July 20, from July 22 to July 27, and from July 29 to August 3.
