Wudang raises Golden Summit ticket prices

The price bureau of Hubei province increased the ticket price for Golden Summit on Wudang Mountain to 27 yuan ($4.26) per person. Wudang will implement the new price beginning March 15, 2013.

From 2005 the price of entrance tickets at Wudang Mountain increased from 110 yuan ($17.38) per person to 140 yuan ($22.12) per person, but the tickets of Golden Summit were 20 yuan ($3.10). With the rising number of tourists at Wudang Mountain, maintaining the ancient architectural complex has become more expensive. The increasing cost of building materials and labor has forced Golden Summit to increase ticket prices.

Purple Palace on Wudang Mountain will keep ticket prices at 15 yuan ($2.37) per person.
