Wudang holds prominent Taoist sermon activities

Huang Xinyang, deputy president of the Chinese Taoist Association (CTA), hosted the opening ceremony. Ke Xisheng, deputy secretary of the Wudang district working committee; Zhang Jiyu, deputy president of the CTA; and Ren Farong, president of the CTA, also attended the ceremony. After the opening ceremony, Taoist masters held the "Meeting the God" ceremony.
Luotian Dajiao is a traditional Taoist activity that includes rituals of fasting and offering. Luotian means heaven in Taoism. Jiao refers to traditional Taoist worship rituals. The activity is the largest of its kind with the greatest significance and the longest worship period. It seeks to pray for national prosperity and peace.
Wudang Mountain arranged 28 sermon altars in seven palaces, including 12 in Yuxu Palace, one in Taihe Palace, six in Purple Heaven Palace, four in Jingyue Palace, three in Qiongtai Temple and one in South Rock Palace. It was also announced that the Taoist sermon awards ceremony will be held on Oct 19.
