On March 30 and 31, Bagong Mountain will hold a Han wedding ceremony in Huainan city, Anhui province. The bride and bridegroom will wear Hanfu (Han Chinese clothing) and get married to drum music from the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220). It is also the beginning of the first Large Bagong Mountain tourist carnival.
A Han marriage, also known as Marriage of the Zhou Form (from the Zhou Dynasty 1046-771 BC), includes the Woguan rite (washing hands by flowing water), Tonglao rite (eating one piece of meat), Hejin rite (drinking cross-cupped wine), Baitang rite (worship of heaven and earth) and Jiefa rite (knotting the hair up). The ceremony is viewed as a quintessential Chinese national rite.
The tourist carnival is hosted by the Anhui Tourist Association and the city tourist associations of Huainan and Liuan city. There will be many splendid activities, including a tour of Chu-Han culture, a photography competition of the most beautiful flower child and folk temple fairs.
Bagong Mountain was the location where the significant Battle of Fei River took place. In the battle in AD 383, the former Qin Empire (consisting of ethnic groups from the north) was defeated by the numerically inferior Eastern Jin (Han Chinese-lead) army. The mountain was also the place where the Huainan prince, Liu An, refined dan (alchemy) and wrote books.
