A 12-day shoot in Wudang Mountains for the CCTV-4 series Hundreds of Mountains and Rivers (or Baishan Baichuan Xing) concluded on June 20.
The program includes 3episodes: the first episode concerns a brief introduction of Wudang. The camera crew filmed Wulong Palace, then visited a kung fu master and later filmed the Golden Hall and Nanyan Palace.
The second episode focused on other scenic spots in Wudang. The camera crew started shooting at Nanyan Palace and then at Langmei Temple, Huanglong Hall and Chaotianmen Gate, and gave viewers an insight into Taoist practices.
The third episode focuses on Wudang Taoist medicine, and includes an interview with a Taoist doctor and insight into the production of Taoist medicine. The crew also filmed a performance of Taoist music and some shots of local wildlife including monkeys and egrets.
Every episode of Hundreds of Mountains and Rivers runs about 45 minutes and focuses on some of the most famous mountains and rivers in China. Last year, an episode of CCTV 4's The Distant Family focused on the old architecture of Wudang.
