A flock of white egrets searching for food recently gathered in the wetland park in Tai Chi Lake New Area of Wudang Mountains, attracting the attention of visitors.
The wetland park, that is located in the Wudang Mountain Tourism and Economy Special Region is part of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, and covers an area of 132.91 mu (8.86 hectares).
A total of about 16 aquatic plants, including the lotus and water lily, grow in the park. The project is about 80 percent complete, and it is also set to include a bridge.
The wetland park is expected to play an important role in improving the ecological environment of the area.
The clean water and abundant fish and shrimps are likely to attract an increasing number of white egrets who are expected to come to the park in search of food and also to make nests.
