A plaque unveiling ceremony for two institutions, the Wudang Mountain branch of the China Artists Association and the Wudang Mountain Painting and Calligraphy Institute, was held at the Geological Museum of Wudang Mountain on Oct 23, wudangshan.gov.cn reported.
The two institutions then demonstrated their potential for cooperation as they launched a joint calligraphy and painting exhibition immediately after the ceremony.
Guo Jinlong, chairman of the China Artists Association, gave a speech at the ceremony.
The exhibited art works focus on the 64th anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, and most of the 160 works, including calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting and seal carving, were especially created for this exhibition.
The new institutions aim to build a communication platform for artists around the country, and to attract more artists to learn about the culture and history of Wudang Mountains, and perhaps to gain inspiration from the area.
