Huangpi named one of China’s top ten tourist counties

Hubei province received four awards at the third Chinese Tourism Industry Development Annual Conference held in Beijing on Jan 5, and Huangpi district in Wuhan city ranked one of the 2013 “Wild China” top ten tourist counties, the only scenic area in Hubei province to receive the award.
Huangpi tourism department said that last year, for the first time, over 10 million tourists visited the county, marking a year on year increase of 25.45 percent, and tourism revenue reached 3.02 billion yuan ($498.6 million), a year on year increase of 50.55 percent.
In addition, Mulan Mountain, Mulan Tianchi scenic spot, Mulan grassland and Mulan Yunwu Mountain will be merged with the aim of transforming the Huangpi Mulan cultural eco-tourism area into a national 5A tourist attraction.
