Tourists head to Wudang Mountains during Lantern Festival celebration

Crowds of visitors gathered at Wudang Mountains in Shiyan city, Hubei province at 7 am on Feb 14 to burn incense for the traditional Chinese Lantern Festival, which falls on the 15th day of the first lunar month every year, wudangshan.gov.cn reported on Feb 16.
In anticipation of the surge in tourist numbers, the local authorities opened ticket windows at the scenic spot at 5 am.
At about 8 o'clock in the morning, most of the tourists had already gathered at the Golden Hall, and local police officers and volunteers ensured the safety of the venue until the last group of tourists left at about 8:20 pm.
The management of Wudang Mountains said that they did not have any major issues during the holiday period and they did not receive any complaints.
