The Dongfeng sailing team, including four Chinese sailors, will take part in the competition representing China in the world's premier sailing race, the Volvo Ocean Race. The Wudang Mountains in Shiyan city will join hands with the team as its platinum partner.

The government officially approved a joint venture project and branding strategy between Dongfeng and Volvo Car Corporation at the beginning of this year. The sailing event is expected to help Dongfeng and Wudang raise brand influence overseas.

After 18 months of construction in the UK, Dongfeng’s new race boat, the Volvo Ocean 65, is well-prepared for its show. Candidate training, with both foreign and Chinese sailors, will be carried out as soon as the race boat arrives in China. The boat will undergo a halfway trial sailing based on the Volvo race route, departing China for Europe.
