Chao Bai Wudang, a 20-episode TVB drama co-produced by Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) from Hong Kong and the Wudang Mountains administration, wrapped up its shoot in the Wudang Mountains, Hubei province, on Nov 6.
The series depicts the story of a group of Hong Kong people visiting Wudang and learning Wudang's Taoist martial arts, highlighting the beauty and delicacy of the mountain peaks and the harmonious Taoist ideology in Wudang.
Over the years, Wudang has been striving to build an international tourist attraction with focus on producing films and TV series. Prior to Chao Bai Wudang, a string of movies and TV dramas including Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and White Haired Witch were shot in Wudang, bringing the glamorous scenery to international tourists.
White Haired Witch, a 3D film released on July 31, had the top domestic box office for two weeks in a row with a total of 400 million yuan ($62.27 million), wowing movie goers with Wudang's picturesque landscape. The new TV series will certainly be another boom for Wudang's tourism industry.
