The Chinese Violin Society hosted a 2014 annual meeting in the Wudang Mountains of Shiyan, Hubei province, on Dec 9.

Sheng Zhongguo, chairman of the Chinese Violin Society, was invited to deliver a speech. Sheng talked about how art can help shape the soul, and artists should focus on creating excellent works.

The violin artists talked about construction, communication and development of society; the promotion of the violin; and the moral culture of artists.

The 30th anniversary concert of Shiyan TV was held in the Tai-chi Lake Theater in the evening. A total of 51 violinists, including Sheng Zhongguo, Liu Xiao, Liu Yunzhong and Wang Hong, were invited to give performances.
