To improve the water quality and the living environment for the residents, the zone launched water-pollution control in December 2012, focusing on the management of water safety, water environment, water economy, water landscape and water culture. By setting up a sewage treatment plant and pipe network, the sewage collection rate reached 90 percent, according to Jia.
At the entrance of Taichi Lake New District, a wetland park covering over 130 mu is under construction. Several varieties of aquatic plants will be planted in the park to clean up the water.
