Zhang Lin, deputy director of the Wudang Tourism Economic Zone, delivered a speech and put forward several requirements for the year ahead. She noted that Wudang should strengthen its fire source management and prevent mountain climbers from taking sources of fire, such as lighters, matches and camp stove fluids. By improving the on-duty system and ensuring emergency phone lines remain open all day, fire accidents can be put out in time, said Mrs Zhang. In addition, Wudang should strengthen its patrol and forbid illegal hunting.
Before the meeting, Zhang and his group investigated the Eight Immortal Temple forests and encouraged staff to strengthen their forest patrols to prevent further fire accidents.
