The Xiamen Open 2014 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour started on Oct 8 in Siming district, Xiamen, Fujian province.

The competition will run until Oct 12. The daily games are scheduled to start at 8:00 am and end at 4:30 pm (adjusted according to local conditions). A single game lasts about 50 minutes. The games, which are free for the public to watch, provide moveable bleachers with 1500 seats.

The competition is being attended by 141 beach volleyball teams from 36 countries and regions, including the US, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Canada, Spain and Brazil, with a total prize worth $150,000.

During the five days, audiences can take part in beach volleyball activities for themselves, and samba dancers from Cuba will give performances during the game intervals.

The men’s final will start at 3:30 pm on Oct 11, while the women’s final will bounce off at 3:00 pm on Oct 12. Xiamen TV will give a live telecast of the last eight games and CCTV 5 will broadcast the two finals.
