From January to October, the Xiamen free trade area absorbed one third of Xiamen's overall foreign investment.

In the first 10 months of 2015, 188 foreign-invested enterprises, accounting for 37.4 percent of the total in Xiamen, were set up in the free trade area.

A total of $1.2 billion in contracted foreign investment was channeled to the Xiamen free trade area, 36 percent of the total amount flowing into the city.

Among the 188 foreign-invested enterprises in the Xiamen free trade area, 69 were collaborations between different districts in Xiamen.
