Taichi has become popular among the people in the county of Huocheng, in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, with Huocheng lengthening the opening hours of the gym since winter.
Many Taichi fans practice in the gym every day, with one Taichi fan, called Lu Zhaoming, saying that he really enjoys this exercise, "although I just began to practice Taichi recently, I found that it was good for my heart, and after several weeks of practicing, I felt very relaxed and comfortable."
Hang Rongguo, a teacher from Jiangsu province' supporting Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region to develop” project, also as a member of the Jiangsu Taichi Association, now practices Taichi with Huocheng people every day. According to Hang, the Huocheng people already knew the Yang style and Chen style Taichi, and he said "now several Taichi fans from Jiangsu province have introduced the Wu style Taichi to Huocheng, with the expectation that more Huocheng people could learn and benefit from Taichi, a traditional Chinese sport."
People can stretch their bodies through practicing Taichi, which is a kind of slow and gentle sport suiting for both the elderly and young. Yao Hua, a Taichi fan said he benefited a lot from Taichi after two-years of practice. "I hope more Huocheng people keep doing sports to stay healthy in winter, and I support Taichi as a good choice, " said Yao.
