"Star of North Xinjiang", the intercity train between Karamay and Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, has brought the two cities more convenience and opportunities.
Starting running on May 1 2014, the train cuts the travel time to four hours. Every day, there are three trains running in both directions between Karamay and Urumqi.
A ticket for a second-class seat on the intercity train costs 54.5 yuan ($8.7), half the price of a long distance bus ticket. The reasonable price makes "Star of North Xinjiang" the best choice for people in these two cities who want to travel.
