The vice director of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, Wang Peian, recently paid a visit to Karamay to investigate the city's remote medical service conditions and information management, according to Karamay Daily.
"I've visited a lot of hospitals in different cities and hospitals in Karamay that have done the best job in medical information management," said Wang. "Taking electronic medical record management as an example, hospitals from Karamay do a better job than hospitals in Beijing."
On the same day, Wang also visited a local community health service center where he examined the center's outpatient process and the application of information technology.
Upon hearing that the medical center had begun creating profiles for patients for four years, Wang gave the center a high evaluation.
During the visit, Wang also offered advice and suggestions on health care reform and the improvement of medical standards.
