The mayor of Karamay, Zhang Hongyan, invited representatives of the local private enterprises on Oct 21 for them to voice their opinions about the city and boosting the local economy.
Participant entrepreneurs spoke out their views and underlined the challenges they face. They pointed to decreasing volume of business due to drop in oil prices, suggested that private enterprises should come together to explore new external markets, and asked local government to give more financial supports to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Zhang declared at the meeting that Karamay government would take the entrepreneurs' suggestions into account when drawing up new urban development plan and come up with more preferential policies for SMEs to boost local private enterprises. She also asked more entrepreneurs to present their views and advice in writing after the meeting.
Karamay's Party chief, Chen Xinfa, was also present at the meeting.
