Na Jiarui, vice president of Shell (China), visited Xinjiang Oilfield Company on April 19, the Karamay Daily reported.
Na is in charge of the Upstream Businesses and New Businesses Development Department in Shell China.
The CO2-EOR project is to collect carbon dioxide (CO2) gas from the process of oil production, then inject into the ground to enhance oil recovery.
"Shell successfully applied CO2-EOR technology in the Permian reservoir in the United States. Thus, I'm confident with the cooperation at the Karamay Oilfield," said Na.
Na noted that China National Petroleum Corporation has been an important partner for Shell.
Huo Jin, Deputy General Manager of Xinjiang Oilfield Company, said the Karamay Oilfield is rich in natural resources, supporting technology and outstanding personnel, characteristics of technological leaders worldwide.
"As long as we sincerely adopt the principle of sincere cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win, we can make more achievements, and promote the development of both enterprises," Huo went on to say.
Shell is one of the largest international energy companies in the world. It has a history of more than 120 years. Its core businesses, such as oil and gas development and related industries, have entered the Chinese market.
