Karamay municipal government signed a strategic agreement with the Industry of Data Centers Union (IDCUN) on May 10 to develop its cloud computing industry.
According to the agreement, the union's secretary-general, Zheng Hong, will act as a consultant to help Karamay develop its cloud computing industry. Karamay's Could Computing Industrial Park will take part in meetings and forums held by IDCUN to make use of available resources, while the union will provide investment, financing and planning advice related to cloud computing.
Since its establishment, the Cloud Computing Industrial Park in Karamay has attracted approximately 30 renowned enterprises and projects to settle there. These include the Huawei Cloud Computing Data Center and Regional Data Center of Xinjiang.
IDCUN has aided the development of Chinese data centers since 2010. It founded an enterprise library comprising of the top three key domestic telecom operators (China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom). Seven expert committees on data centers were also established by the union, involving more than 200 specialists in investment and technologies.
