The Xinjiang LED Industry League was launched in the Urumqi High-tech Industrial Development Zone on May 10 as part of the 2017 Xinjiang Lighting Bringer Summit Forum.

Founded by Xinjiang Zijing Optical-electrical Technology Co Ltd, the LED Industry League aims to coordinate the sound and sustainable development of Xinjiang’s LED industry.

The league will help LED companies in R&D and to establish standardized policies for LED products in the region. It will also conduct supervisory inspections on lighting products in the LED market across the region.

Wei Jian, president of the Xinjiang Zijing Optical-electrical Technology Co Ltd, said, “We need to draw up specific standards for the Xinjiang LED industry to promote product quality and to help local lighting products gain more influence in the market.”

Zhao Shengcheng, director of the region’s machinery and electronics industry management office, noted that the central government plans to invest 240 billion yuan ($34.8 billion) in Urumqi to promote its local infrastructure construction, which means a great market for local LED companies.
