The 13th Silk Road Ice and Snow Festival took place in Urumqi, the capital city of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, on Dec 10.
The event was hosted by the region’s Tourist Administration and the government of Urumqi. It featured over 50 activities, including a souvenir design contest, paper-cutting party and photography exhibition. The event revolved around themes of forum, tourism, culture and sports.
The annual festival started in 2002 and will conclude on Feb 28 this year.
