Urumqi city's Economic and Technological Development Zone in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region held its 2nd spring job fair, on April 26.
The fair attracted 19 large companies with 284 vacancies, more than half of which are available to minor ethnic groups due to great demand from business.
For example, a newly graduated Uygur girl was hired as a saleswoman by Xinjiang Uygur Pharmaceutical Enterprise Co, which is seeking to exploit the market in Xinjiang and Central Asia.
The recruitment fair provides an employment platform for local job hunters and businesses. The district held a very successful one last year, said Zhong Li, a staff member from the district’s environmental protection bureau.
Organizers of the job fair included a team from the bureau and the Administrative Committee of the Steel Area.
