The French city of Grasse became twinned with Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan, after the two cities signed a relationship agreement on March 27.

Authorities, organizations and businesses will cooperate in fields of economy, culture, education, technology and tourism, and increase communication.

Grasse is located in southeastern France and is honored as being the capital of perfume. It is home to the International Perfume Museum and the well-known perfume Chanel No 5 was created there.

Kunming plans to build a perfume industrial park that when completed will welcome French enterprises to build production bases, research and development and marketing centers there. It will also be convenient for Kunming to introduce talented individuals, technologies and investment related to the perfume industry in Grasse.
