Officials from the Kunming National Hi-Tech Industries Development Zone recently visited Yunnan Copper to study its production and management in the first quarter. They learned that although copper prices plummeted compared with last year, the company will raise its production by a large margin this year. 　

The company is a State-owned raw copper deep-processing facility and mainly produces electrolytic copper, gold, silver and sulfuric acid. Officials listened to the production and management report by leaders of the company, as well as the production schedule in 2014. They got a general idea of the price development throughout the year and discussed problems with the company personnel together. 　

Officials said that they were confident that Yunnan Copper would profit by increasing production after listening to the report, and hoped that the company continues to make contributions to local economic development. They stressed that the company should focus renovation on environmental protection, energy conservation and emission reduction, and fight for support from governments at various levels. They also urged the company to pay attention to avoid polluting surrounding residential areas.
