A kindergarten in Kunming National Hi-Tech Industries Development Zone recently held a charity bazaar, where the children sold their toys and used the money to buy chairs for residents of the Yunnan Red Cross nursing home. The children raised 7,800 yuan ($1,258) through the bazaar and bought 100 chairs for the senior citizens.

At the donation ceremony, the children put on a show at the nursing home and did some fitness dance with the seniors.
Aging of the population has become a serious social problem in recent years. It requires the whole society to care more about senior citizens, especially those who have no family and live alone. Respecting elders is a traditional moral value in China. All sectors of society should make their own efforts to give senior citizens a sense of security, belonging, and worthiness.
