A study group from the Yuxi National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone recently came to the Kunming National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone to gain advanced experience. They hope to enhance communication and cooperation between the two zones so as to boost economic development of both sides.

During the visit, the director of the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone introduced the general development status of the zone as well as experience in practices such as reform of systems and mechanisms; policy planning; personnel management; the selection and nurturing of leading industries; investment inviting policies; science and technology incubator management; and land purchasing, storage and planning.

The Yuxi Hi-Tech Zone spoke highly of the development and progress that the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone has made in recent years. Sun Huiqiang, director of the Yuxi study group, said that Yuxi came to Kunming to gain advanced experience with a hope that the two zones, which are good neighbors, would enhance communication and cooperation so as to boost the economic development of both sides.

The Yuxi Hi-Tech Zone, founded in 1992, has become the main force of economic development in Yuxi, Yunnan province. Major industries in the Yuxi Hi-Tech Zone include biological medicine, new materials, agricultural intensive processing and the cigarette industry.

Directors of the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone suggested that mutual learning is necessary. The two zones have already signed a cooperation agreement and have been hand-in-glove for several years. A close cooperation can complement each other’s advantages and realize rapid economic growth, thus promoting the economic construction of Yunnan province.

At last, the two zones discussed some concrete measures in investment invitation, science and technology incubator management, and talent management.
