According to the commercial substation at the Kunming National Hi-Tech Industries Development Zone, from January to May 2014, the zone attracted 937 enterprises and 285 privately or individually-owned businesses to settle in the zone, which respectively accounted for 62.5% and 57% of their annual target. By the end of May, there were 14,447 registered enterprises in the zone whose registered capital exceeded 186 billion yuan ($30 billion).
This year has seen a slight increase in the number of state-owned or collective enterprises but their scale and economic strength have increased a lot. Meanwhile, incorporated enterprises, which integrate several economic sectors, have become the development priority. Among the newly registered enterprises, private companies in tertiary industries account for more than ever, demonstrating that the industrial structure in the zone has further been optimized.
With the increase in the number of newly settled enterprises, the commercial substation at the zone has strictly regulated working behaviors of staff in relevant departments, so as to build a favorable environment to better serve the enterprises in the zone.
