A rope skipping competition was held on Aug 8, the 4th National Fitness Day, in Kunming's Hi-Tech Zone. More than 360 staff and community residents took part in the competition. There were one first prize, three second prizes and six third prizes awarded.

Rope skipping is a sport that requires physical coordination and dexterity and good teamwork. To hold a rope skipping competition to mark National Fitness Day, according to the bureau of culture, education, sports and tourism in the zone, is aimed at making people there experience the joy of sports and encourage them to develop a habit of exercising. It is expected that the staff in the zone can be physically and mentally healthy through exercise so that they can live and work better.
