Kunming Hi-Tech No 1 Primary School held a special opening ceremony on Sept 1 – a campus gourmet festival. 6,000 teachers and students joined in the activities.
During the gourmet festival, students presented different traditional food cultures. Each class had their own representatives to demonstrate to all the students and teachers the cuisine they cooked on stage. The little cooks carefully explained the cooking methods of their dishes and invited students and teachers to have a taste. More than 1,000 first-year students also participated in the activities and quickly fitted in to the new environment.
The campus gourmet festival is one of the seven campus culture activities of 2014 in Kunming Hi-Tech No 1 Primary School that were aimed at making students gain a knowledge of the Chinese food culture via the Internet and extracurricular reading. Also, cooking some dishes with the help of friends or parents is a good way to experience the joy of work and improve their self-care ability.
