The 2014 autumn sports meeting of the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone was held on Sept 18. It was not only an inspection of the cultural and sports work within the Zone, but also a good opportunity to strengthen friendship among staff in the Zone and show off their skills in sport.

Wang Minzheng, director of the administrative committee of the Zone, said at the opening ceremony that the staff members in the Zone should not only have strong professional abilities, but be physically and mentally healthy and strong. Regularly undertaking exercise, therefore, is both beneficial and necessary. He also said that the Zone wants to encourage its staff to cultivate at least one sports specialty and develop exercise habits by holding sports meetings and other interesting activities.

The first game of the sports meeting, a tug-of-war competition, started after Wang’s speech. Eight teams took part in the game, in which the Human Resources Department, General Accounting Department, and Majinpu Community Office won the top three prizes.
