Yunnan Provincial Education Department recently published the final results of its Campus Sport Dance Competition. Teams from Kunming Hi-Tech No 1 Primary School won the first prize in waltz and cowboy dance. The school was also awarded “best organizer” by the authorities.
The Kunming Hi-Tech No 1 Primary School has been encouraging students to join sport dances in their 30-minute breaks every day to improve their physical fitness. The school sent a team of 50 students to perform the Campus Vienna Waltz and another team of 100 to perform the Campus Cowboy Dance. Their beautiful moves, orderly formation and youthful spirits impressed the judges and won them two first prizes.
Yunnan’s Campus Sport Dance Competition, hosted by Yunnan Provincial Education Department and undertaken by Yunnan Student Sports Association, started in June in kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and universities and colleges in Yunnan province. The judges reviewed all the DVDs from different schools and evaluated and ranked them.
