Yunnan has abundant water resources, whose total amount ranks third in China. However, as a result of pollution and uneven distribution, water problems became the biggest concerns of people there. To deal with those problems, the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone built China’s first Water Technology Park to focus on integrated water management and efficient utilization, water technology equipment manufacture, and water environment protection. At present, nearly 100 water technology enterprises have gathered in the Zone to develop the promising emerging industry.
