The industrial and commercial administration in the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone started conducting 100-day intensive market supervision on Jan 5 to rectify the market, especially during the coming Spring Festival holiday in February.

The administration plans to strengthen its enforcement and inspection on the quality of goods and services, including household appliances, vehicles, agricultural products and telecommunication services. It will ban unlicensed business activities, malicious competition, pyramid schemes and the circulation of infringing goods.

In addition, consumers will get quicker replies to their complaints from government departments since the industrial and commercial administration will make a greater effort on complaint handling and problem solving.

The intensive market supervision activity will end on Apr 15.
